Dear Miss Wiebe

So this week was my last time helping at St Jerome, so all the kids in the grade 3 class made me a card. I thought I would post the one...
Dear Miss Wiebe
Thank you for helping us and for being very nice. I will miss you very much, here is a poem I made.

We'll miss you
You'll miss me
Yesterday was
my birthday that
you missed. It
was November 30.
P.S. good luck at becoming a teacher.

Ya, kids are cute

My first blog!!

Hi everyone. I am pretty excited to start blogging. To those of you that don’t really know what’s going on in the life of Danielle, here is a little update. This semester I have started taking some ed classes and have spent a lot of time in a grade three class working as an assistant teacher. Sundays I have enjoyed coaching for the Special Olympics, these kids are just so amazing; they are just so happy and content with life. They have blessed me so much. I helped in a competition yesterday for the Special Olympics and had so much fun. These kids are amazing they have overcome so many obstacles in their lives and they never stop smiling and encouraging each other. I spent the day with three 13-15 year old girls getting them ready to compete, keeping them occupied and well just having fun. They all did really well; one of the girls even came in third.
Besides coaching I am also helping out with Out of the Cold Friday nights. This is a program that some of the churches in Hamilton have started. From November until March one church a night opens their door to the homeless. They serve them soup and dinner, for those that want to sleep over we set up mattress for them. In the morning they are served breakfast and given a bagged lunch for the day. Its easy to forget just how much God has bless us and I am so excited just to be able to serve and be the hands of my God.
I have posted some pictures of the competition
